It’s always wild to me when I get to witness some of the raw and vulnerable moments of a wedding. Florists are usually in and out before much of the festivities begin. But as I pinned on the boutonniere for this groom I couldn’t help but check in with him. You could hear the nervous excitement in his voice. He was about to see his bride for the first time! These memories stick with me. 🤍

As I worked with Kelsey to bring her flower dreams to life for her wedding, she was curious about how some things would look. I get it, it can be hard to visualize an art form as unique as flowers. Her vision included all white flowers, little to no greenery, and a good amount of texture. I sketched out this rough drawing of the ceremony arch to share with her what I saw in my head. We talked about being able to repurpose the piece as a whole for the sweethearts table and I suggested making a floor piece that could be easily moved to the front of the table. Looking back, it’s fun to see the vision I had in my head on paper and then in real life. I’m so grateful to work with brides who entrust me with their vision. It’s a true passion to create something unique for each of my brides.

Sometimes I get sucked into looking back over all the pretty images from the previous year’s weddings. It’s like I see my designs in a new light. The passing of time brings appreciation and helps me not focus as much on the areas I felt weak in. ❤️

We’ve been a little quiet here, but have been enjoying our off season and taking advantage of the time to be together and work on lots of home projects! We still have a few dates available for next year, but things are filling up quickly as we are scaling back a bit to make room for other adventures that God is bringing us to. My name is Leah and I have was introduced to the world of wedding flowers when my oldest sister got married in 2012 and the florist was a family friend. I got a taste of what designing flowers was like and since then imagined it being a part of my life. After meeting my husband in college out of state we moved back to Idaho in 2017 and really moved forward with pursuing this business. We created Spera Floral and have seen it grow to a part time adventure to a full time business for both Josh and I.
